Ramadan June 6

Ramadan will be observed in Ottawa on Monday June 6th.

As it has been the tradition for years at the Islam Care Centre to provide family iftars for the Muslim community we continue this tradition this year and ask the community to be a part of gaining rewards during this blessed month. Each night your iftar will feed at least 65 people.

Starting June 6 to July 6 2016 this is the schedule where you can sign up to provide family iftars at Islam Care Centre.

We welcome you, your family, friends and neighbors to contribute to the iftar at the centre by preparing enough food for at least 65 people. We ask kindly that the food prepared be individually packed into complete meals. We can provide the clam-shell packaging if needed. Any extras are delivered to near by shelters.

Alternatively you may donate at least $300 for us to have the iftar catered from local Muslim caterers.

You can do this for both gaining immense reward during this month and an expiation (kafarah) for missed days that you, you parents, or family members cannot make up with fasting. If you cannot donate for an entire night of iftar, consider donating $200 for feeding 30 people, or whatever you can. Go here to donate online or visit us at 375 Somerset St West.
